Put the words in four groups:

1. All words containing the sound /o/ (as in château)
2. All words containing the sound /é/ (as in café)
3. All words containing the sound /u/ (as in joue)
4. All other words

When you have finished:

• Write one sentence, using some of the words.
• Dictate it to your partner, who writes it down.
• Swap roles. Who wrote the longer sentence?
