AIM

To encourage volunteering within the community and amongst individuals.

Based on the belief that members of a community have a responsibility to each other and voluntary help is needed.

Some ideas:

- Coaching, teaching and training

To encourage participation and improvement in physical activity.

Based on the belief that physical activity is good for our health and well-being.

Some ideas:

- Dance - Martial arts - Water sports - Racquet sports

- Extreme sports - Team sports

To encourage the development of practical and social skills and personal interests.

Based on the belief that it is important for people to have interests outside of their

normal work life.

Some ideas:

- Science and technology - Care of animals

- Games and sports - Performance arts

- Music - Creative arts

  • 1 hour per week, for 3 months for 2 of the sections.
  • 1 hour per week for 6 months for the third section
  • Maximum of 2 sections the same eg horse/dance related
  • Evidence on eDofE is assessed
  • Self motivated

  • 2 sections MUST be complete by the practice weekend
  • Final section completed by Qualifying weekend

Training weekend 17th-18th May

Qualifying weekend 7th-8th June

  • 6 Hours of planned activity per day
  • Walk approx 12 km per day
  • Teams between 4-7 people
  • Local to Tamworth

AIM

To encourage a spirit of adventure and discovery by preparing for and carrying out an adventurous journey as part of a team.

Based on the belief that it is important for people to expand their horizons.

Expectations

  • No mobile phones
  • Commitment to the individual sections
  • 2 weekends of camping
  • Qualifying weekend will be between 20 km-24 km of walking

Parents

  • Drop them off and leave
  • Do NOT arrive to collect until you have been notified

  • eDofE sign up early October

  • 16th-17th May training expedition

  • 13th-14th June Qualifying expedition

Bronze award Total cost £150

Payment via ParentPay in 3 instalments

  • £50 Payment 1 - due prior to eDofE sign up (non refundable)
  • £50 Payment 2 - due February
  • £50 Payment 3 - due end of May
