Our Eagle Finder Prototype

This is our sign in page, the first thing our users see when they open the app.

Prototype

After logging in our users are met with a page that has all the locations on campus, this page is alphabetized going in order from A-Z.

Once the user searches for their location, they are given an estimated time of when they will arrive to their location.

Now this page show how the interface will look when our users are navigating to their location. There is also a little game that can be played on the way to the destination.

After you’ve made it to your destination you earn coins. These coins can be added to your total amount of coins to get prizes.

Prototype

This is the prize page. Once you get a certain amount of coins you can cash them in for a prize.

This is where the user can scan the QR code they’re given for the discount. And in case the QR code isn’t working, we can provide a promo code instead.

Creating the App

We wanted to create an experience that helped students find better way to navigate campus, as well as throwing in a unique game play element in order to make it reusable and different from Google Maps.

So we ideated these features:

  • An alphabetical page to make building finding easier
  • A live 3D map with AR elements instead of a 2d map
  • Coin collecting gameplay while navigating
  • A rewards system that gives returning users real life discounts

Research questions we asked

In order to receive key feedback that help improve our prototype, we came up interview questions that could help us understand the user’s feelings and frustrations.

  • How could we improve the flow or layout?
  • What do you like about the app compared to Google Maps?
  • Do you think it's easier or harder to use compared to Google maps?
  • What can be added to the prototype that you would like to see? What can be taken off?
  • Any questions about the prototype?
