  • 4th step of Aerobic Respiration
  • Transports energy from electrons
    • Carried from Hydrogen atoms (NADH and FADH₂)
  • Through series of redox reactions
    • Using cytochromes from the cristae
      • Cytochromes: Iron containing molecules → electron acceptors
    • Transfer electrons sequentially
    • Final electron/hydrogen acceptor is Oxygen
      • Causing formation of H2O
