Dearest Bill,
I am in the nurses office right. The Doctor is here today. That is why I couldn’t call you. Today in History just as Myrtle and I were leaving the room Gloria turned around and said something to us but I guess she changed her mind. Oh well it really doesn’t make any difference. Did you mean what you said to me last night about us getting married in a few months? I think it would be wonderful. But what about school? And what about my Mother? You know she would have a fit. I must say Bill, you are in good with the girls around here. I was just talking to Dee Dee and she thinks you are real fine. She asked me when we are getting married. I told her soon. She als told me she doesn’t like Arlene Hudson and she didn’t care much for Pat. (The things I learned, oh yes she can’t stand Gloria. She said Gloria is nothing but a little Bitch. I just laughed. She said hardly any of the girls liked her. That’s school fo you. You haven’t read my other not have you? I didn’t think so. I shouldn’t have even written this one. I Love you, Pat Curry, Mrs Bill Wright (no date, written in early 1951. Bill and Pat were married June 8, 1951!) (Thank you Mom and Dad, married 38 years before Bill’s tragic passing 09/11/1989)

Hi Honey,
Love me? I hope so. I Love you too. Isn’t Love grand,
It makes people do so many odd things. Oh well, that’s life I guess. Just what are we going to do Saturday night, if we don’t go to the prom? Go to the show and get drunk? The reason I don’t know rather we are going or not because I don’t know if I want to sing or not? It’s too much trouble because you know how lazy I am (at times). Oh, by the way Honey, how would you like a picture of me in the parade? It’s pretty good, but it could be better. I am with all the girls in a group so I don’t know rather you would want it or not? Today at school, some of the girls took some pictures of me by myself so maybe I’ll be able to get you one of those? Another reason I wanted you to come over Friday night is because I want you to take Helen home, otherwise she won’t have a way. How long will it take you to get your car fixed up? What color did you finally plan on painting it? Did you ever talk Jimmy into leaving his car with you while he is gone or wont his Mother let him? You know darling if you don’t come over Friday night it sure will be lonesome without you. How I miss you during the week. If you don’t know, you should know. By the way it just dawned on me. Monday when you took us to town I noticed that the socks weren’t hanging in the car, how come? Honey, are we going to Balboa next weekend or not? I really don’t think I’ll be able to go because Helen is supposed to move in with Mom this weekend. But I’ll let you go if you want too, aren’t I sweet? I’ll just stay home and wait for you. (or go somewhere with Jean). Oh yes, are you going to Santa Ana this Sunday. If you are, you are going to take me (aren’t you?) Well Baby, I am running out of things to write about, so I’ll sign off for now.

Dearest Bill,
I know that you don't care to get letters from me, but when your mad at me and I can't tell you how I feel in person than I just have to write to you.
Honey I wish you hadn't been so mad at me tonight.
When your mad at me I feel so awful.
What I was thinking about wasn't so bad that it had to make you not even want to be with me.
I was just wondering why you are so funny at times and if we really will go steady and have things just the way they use to be.
Why is it, it's me you want when you could have so many others.
Bill, I love you so much that I want things to be just the way you want them, no matter what it is.
If we do go steady again I promise you I'll never even look at another guy as long as you want me even after your tired of me I'll never give up.
Maybe some day things will be just the way we want them.

I was fortunate as was Bill and Pat to know Chris. I visited with Martin Avery on the telephone in recent times. Friends called him Chris and we spoke on the phone many times his last couple of years while he sent me many of his sketches. We reminisced over wonderful times, a special friendship and it was good.. He was very humble as I flattered him about his drawings I would anxiously wait for with his weekly emails.We sure shared nice memories by phone in 2021 and early 2022 before his passing.
