We meet at Newcastle Airport

Newcastle 07:00 – Grenoble 10:15               Flight No. LS535 (Jet2)

Grenoble 11:15 – Newcastle 12:30               Flight No. LS536 (Jet2)

Children should meet their group leader inside the main entrance of Newcastle airport no later than 4:45am for the outbound flight.

Zip pocket to look after boarding pass and passport when pupils are at the airport and on the plane.

Claviere is Italy's oldest resort and retains much of its traditional centre, blending with its new architecture. It's a small family friendly resort that caters best for beginners and intermediates.

Skiing

Children receive 4 hours of professional ski tuition per day

Ski safety will be discussed with instructors

Free ski will not be allowed

Ski school times will be confirmed when we arrive at the resort. This will determine the children’s daily routine.

There will be a range of evening activities organised for the children during their stay in Claviere

Bank system

Children are advised to take approximately 100 Euros spending money. This can be held within a banking system which will be made available to the children each day. Send in your Euros in an envelope before Half Term (Fri 21st Feb) to Mr Hutchinson. make sure your child’s name is on the envelope.

Pupils may wish to save some money for presents, ski badges etc

Additional Information

  • Children will be provided with skis, ski boots, poles and helmets at the hotel
  • Luggage restrictions – 20kg + small hand luggage
  • Medication – This should be handed to the Miss Allison prior to the trip.
  • Electrical items are allowed but they are the children’s responsibility.
  • Passports and EHIC/GHIC to be handed in to school prior to the trip (Before Half-term)
  • Tour hoodies should be here shortly - pupils should wear these when travelling
  • Room allocations will be decided just before we depart.
  • Clothing list & exercises have been sent in previous letter.

Clothing

The weather in the mountains is extremely variable and skiers must be prepared for all kinds of weather conditions.  The following list is intended as a basic guide to the items you should take with you whether they are hired, purchased or borrowed from friends.�

  • Ski Jacket – Wind & snowproof, hood, lots of pockets
  • Salopettes / Ski Trousers – Wind & snowproof
  • Multiple layers underneath - eg thermal base layer plus long sleeved polo neck & thin fleece are much better than one thick garment
  • Hat / Helmet Liner / Neckwarmer
  • Socks – Tube socks are best & cheapest for beginners
  • Mitts / Gloves – Insulated & waterproof
  • Sunglasses / Goggles – UV400, double lens goggles
  • Sunscreen / Lipsalve- factor 50 and total block
