Financial Aid

  • The FAFSA form is the form you need to fill out to get any financial aid from the federal government to help pay for college
  • Many states and colleges also use the FAFSA to determine which students get financial aid—and how much they’ll get
  • The FAFSA asks for information about you and your family’s finances, including tax 2022 returns. You Must create an FSA ID for you and your parent to log in. Both parent and student must have their own FSA ID

FAFSA Deadlines

  • FAFSA opens up in December of 2023
  • The deadline is dependent on the School
  • This document must be completed to qualify for student government aid
  • Colleges use this information for Scholarships

Extracurricular Activities

  • Students should be active members of a clubs or outside organizations
  • These activities help boost college applications
  • Make sure discips keep a log of the clubs and summer opportunities they have completed throughout high school
  • Don’t be shy to ask for references from previous clubs and opportunities during outside TBLS schedule

Naviance and Recommenders

  • Program must be used in order to create college list
  • Location to request letters of recommendation
  • Recommenders are requested through Naviance
  • Make sure the discip has performed well in the class or developed a bond with the teacher that will allow them to write a good recommendation letter.
  • They do not have to be junior year teachers.
  • Select a teacher in the content area they wish to major in

  • Anytime throughout Junior and Senior year- Virtual or in-person college visits
  • June 30th Junior Year-Your Junior Questionnaire Must be completed on Naviance

CIEE STUDY ABROAD PROGRAM

Council on Student Travel to Council on International Educational Exchange

  • Study abroad program where students are able to learn languages and fully immerse themselves in culture of host family
  • Student may select programs based on language, arts, STEM or activism
  • 57 programs across the world available
  • All teachers are Native Speakers
  • Tours, excursions, local markets
  • 4 Weeks
  • CIEE Summer programs
