Starting Info

5 of 77

Tips Before Starting

  • Before you jump into this mammoth of a run, make sure you have at least 1 run done in every other main category, All Endless Modes, and New Game+, or at least practise all of the levels to some degree
  • This is a run that is somewhat hard to execute because it will be rough on your body to be sat down for over 12/13 hours
  • Make sure you have food and water nearby, do not starve yourself just for a speedrun
  • There are two bathroom breaks that you can safely use in this category, the main one is on Column Like You See ‘Em as all you have to do is plant the initial plants and then you can go, the other one is on any of the Survival Levels except for Hard Roof, but this only applies as long as you have everything set up. Of course you may not need to use either but it’s unlikely
  • Money is extremely important in this category, make sure you grab every coin you can
  • A lot of achievements just come with playing the game normally, specific achievements will be outlined when they need to be

6 of 77

Practice Tools

  • If you want to practice with 9 slots, you can make a savefile for that via the PvZToolkit (Any Version) or Ravidog’s Save File Editor (Steam version)
  • Throughout this guide you will see JayJay, ymb, and I have made Layouts for most of the Mini-Games, Survivals, and NG+ Levels but do note that they are merely guides, they are the most ideal sort of setups and they are not the rule. You might have it where something in one of the layouts won’t work because of a certain Zombie Spawn or something else, but just take the layout guides as exactly that - guides
  • Most layouts were created using this website: http://jspvz.com/ArrayDesign/ (I am unsure of what ymb used, but it looks like they just made the layouts in-game and took a screenshot)
  • One more thing: This guide will be explaining the Survival and Mini-Game strats, but for Adventure Mode it will be assuming you have already completed a run and/or know the strats anyway, so it won’t be explaining those here, otherwise this guide would be twice as long as it already is

Any% + Extra Safety Stuff

8 of 77

Any%

  • Type Mustache immediately after getting into 1-1
  • Don’t waste any time planting that first peashooter since the timing starts upon profile creation instead of first plant placement
  • On 2-8, 2-9, or 2-10 hypnotize a disco zombie for “Disco is Undead”
  • For Any%, do everything normally until you complete 3-2, at which point you will have unlocked the first 3 Mini-Games
    • You may choose to ignore or play Slot Machine and Wall-Nut Bowling
    • See the next slide if you have a bad money pace or are a new runner to this category
      • If you are not projected to have enough for 8 slots ($5,000) by 3-4, then you have a bad money pace
  • If you have chosen to ignore them, continue Any% as normal
  • On 3-9 make sure not to pick up the seed packet immediately
    • Exit out to the main menu after completing the level and BEFORE picking up the seed packet
    • Go back in and pick up the seed packet, this may seem random, but it will let us skip a level later
  • Make sure you buy the rakes on 3-5 and 3-8, but for 4-2 and 4-5 it is your choice of whether or not you want to buy the rake (though I highly recommend it on 4-5)
  • For 4-6, buy the rake and after completing the level you will have unlocked Puzzle Mode
    • You may choose to ignore or complete the Vasebreaker and I, Zombie levels
    • See the next slide if you have an average money pace (or worse) or are a new runner to this category
      • If you are not projected to be able to afford Roof Cleaners by 5-2 AND Gloom-Shroom on 5-4, then you have an average (or worse) money pace
  • If you have chosen to ignore the puzzles, continue Any% as normal
  • Remember to buy the rake on 4-9, 5-2, 5-5 and 5-8
  • On 4-10 do not use Magnets or Sea-Shrooms in order to get the “No Fungus Among Us” achievement
  • On 5-2 buy the Roof Cleaners and on 5-4 buy the Gloom Shroom

9 of 77

Extra Safety Stuff

  • 3-2 Detour
  • In reference to last slide, playing the two minigames guarantees you a better money pace, but it’s slightly slower than doing them later
    • It is faster to exit from the seed packet menu that is normally skipped so make sure to watch out!
  • After completing Slot Machine and Wall-Nut Bowling, continue through Any% as normal
    • Return to the last slide
  • 4-6 Detour
  • In reference to last slide, playing the puzzles guarantees you a better money pace, but is again slightly slower than doing them later
    • The method of switching is the same as after 3-2
    • You can buy the rake before Third Vase to set the rake route back on track OR just wait until 4-9 to buy it again
  • After completing the puzzles, continue through Any% as normal
    • Return to the last slide

All Puzzles

12 of 77

Normal Puzzles

  • Watch WarMech’s All Puzzles guide and/or Bulba’s I, Zombie Guide
    • It is linked at the beginning of the guide in credit, but here it is again
    • https://www.speedrun.com/pvz/guide/mnwu8
  • The main goal here is to beat these levels with the least amount of resets
  • This is by far the shortest portion of this run, but one of the most mechanically intense and hard to grasp parts as well
  • On a base level puzzles is not scary, but in higher skill levels it gets very difficult
  • Fortunately for us, this is a very very small portion of a monster sized run

13 of 77

Vasebreaker Endless

  • Vasebreaker Endless is significantly easier than its counterpart of I, Zombie Endless
  • You will more than likely spend far less time getting to Round 15 of this than you will getting to Round 10 of I, Zombie Endless
  • That being said, you can save scum using the same glitch we used before on 3-9
  • By exiting at the start of a round and going back in you can set up a save state
  • This is only for safety and loses time in the long run, but so does dying!
  • When you die choose the “Main Menu” option in the top right corner INSTEAD OF “Retry”
  • Going back in from the menu should load you into the beginning of that round

14 of 77

I, Zombie Endless

  • This Endless Mode is very very difficult because of the layouts it can give you
  • You lose immediately if you run out of sun and have no means of obtaining more
    • i.e. If you have no zombies currently on the field and your sun bank is 25 or lower, you lose
  • However, there is a way to make obtaining victory MUCH easier
  • By using save scumming I, Zombie Endless becomes very VERY trivial
  • I recommend using this even if you are a veteran at the All Puzzles category
  • To do this, you must go the main menu after beating the level, but BEFORE the next one starts (watch some runs of this category if you’re confused on timing)
  • Similarly, you can go back into the level and be right back where you left off
  • If you don’t like the layout you get, die as fast as possible, go to the main menu like in the Vasebreaker Endless save scum, and reenter
  • When the game loads the layout this time, it will be completely different!
  • This allows you to reroll bad layouts, and maybe even guarantee yourself the ever-elusive Scaredy-Shroom/Sunflower layout (solvable by 1 football zombie in each row)

Achievements Earned

  • Better Off Dead
  • China Shop

Most Mini-Games

17 of 77

Route

  • If you have not yet purchased Pool Cleaners, do so now
  • For Mini-Games the first part is pretty straight-forward, the order for completing the Mini-Games is as follows:
    • Slot Machine (If you didn’t do it earlier)
    • Wall-Nut Bowling (If you didn’t do it earlier)
    • It’s Raining Seeds (Buy Rake)
    • Beghouled
    • Invisi-Ghoul
    • Seeing Stars (Get 13 sunflowers, stall zombies with puff-shroom)
    • Zombiquarium (Get 9 snorkels)
    • Beghouled Twist
    • Portal Combat
    • Column Like You See ‘Em
    • Minigames in next 4 slides
    • Wall-Nut Bowling 2
    • Dr. Zomboss Revenge

18 of 77

Zombie Nimble Zombie Quick (ZNZQ)

  • For Zombie Nimble, before starting make sure you buy 9 Seed Slots and the Rake
  • For the plant selection, if you don’t have the Pool Cleaners I recommend taking Kelp, otherwise it’s usually better to take Mine due to the first flag being the biggest factor of your final time in this level
  • You should focus on getting the first two glooms up on Rows 2 and 5 and use Starfruit to kill stray zombies
  • Starfruit will also help deal with Dolphins if you take Mine
  • Glooms on Rows 3 and 4 should be your next priority and then the ones on 1 and 6

19 of 77

Whack a Zombie and Last Stand

  • Whack A Zombie is free, move onto Last Stand after
  • Take the plants shown on the left and use this layout
  • Due to not having the 10th slot, you lose the safety of having Squash on the first flag
  • Something you can do for extra safety is plant a Repeater in a row unprotected by your first pool gloom before hitting start
  • At the end of each round, get ready to plant Doom-Shrooms behind your glooms to kill every zombie on screen (including the ambush zombies that are running away in the pool)
  • The lily pads in the back are to stop zombies from wandering out of the range of your pool Doom-Shrooms in later rounds
  • If you wait to plant the lily pads, you may place an extra Magnet-Shroom during the level after the Round 3

20 of 77

Zombotany

  • The next Level is Zombotany, take the selected plants
  • Plant the first row of Sunflowers in the Middle and depending on where the next Zombie spawns you’ll either keep planting sunflowers in Row 2 or 4, plant the first Gloom with a Pumpkin as soon as you’re able to
  • Once you’ve completed the first Flag plant a Doom Shroom on Row 3 Column 8 and plant a Sunflower in front of it to protect it, Squash and Chomper all Wall-Nut Zombies and detonate the Doom on Wave 19, then plant another Doom on Row 3 Column 9 and detonate it on the Final Wave.

21 of 77

Zombotany 2

  • The next Level is Zombotany 2, make sure you buy the Rake and then take the selected plants
  • Plant the first row of Sunflowers either Row 1 or 2 let go of all Zombies in the bottom two rows and plant the First Gloom in the top row as soon as you can
  • Squash and Chomper all Wall-Nut, Tall-Nut and Jalapeno Zombies
  • If a Squash Zombie appears make sure to plant something cheap in front of it to prevent it from getting past or squashing your Glooms
  • After Flag 1, Plant a Doom in Column 8 in the Pool and detonate it on the 19th Wave, do the same on Flag 2 on the 29th Wave
  • On the Final wave, Plant a Doom in Column 9 of the Pool and Detonate it

22 of 77

Remaining Minigames

  • You may have noticed that there are two missing minigames here
  • Bobsled Bonanza and Pogo Party will be done between some survivals as they require plants we do not yet have
  • Pogo Party can be played after unlocking imitater
  • Bobsled Bonanza can be played after unlocking imitater and spike rock

23 of 77

Achievements Earned

  • Roll Some Heads (Maybe)

24 of 77

Normal/Hard Survivals

25 of 77

Normal Survival: Day - Flag 1

  • Take the selected plants and buy the rake
  • Build up two rows of 6 Sunflowers, starting from the 3rd row and have the second one be in either row 2 or 4 depending on where the 2nd-wave zombie spawns
  • Place a Gloom in either row 2 or 4 and build up from there, using Mines and Squashes to deal with Zombies that won’t get hit by the Gloom
  • Put the second Gloom up as soon as you can
  • Doom the final wave!
  • On one of the daytime survivals, whether it be normal or hard, save up 8000 sun for the “Sunny Days” achievement

26 of 77

Normal Survival: Day - Flag 2+

  • After the first flag you’ll want to take the selected plants
  • If the situation calls for it you’ll also need Magnets
  • Your 9th seed can be whatever you want from Sunflower for more sun production, an instant or even Imitator Pumpkin
  • You’ll want to get a setup like this quickly
  • Keeping your Glooms up is very important so if you lose one you must replant it
  • Your biggest timeloss from this level will come down to how many Coneheads and Dancer Zombies you get, as is the case for basically every Survival

27 of 77

Normal Survivals: Pool - Flag 1

  • For the first flag of Pool, take the selected plants, you’ll need to plant 4 rows of 6 Sunflowers and have two Glooms up (on Rows 2 and 5) ideally by the end of the first flag
  • If you do not have Imitater, take Potato Mine instead
  • First Flag Kelp is not necessary - you can use the Lily Pad instead but Kelp helps out if you get Coneheads in the Pool
  • The first Doom you use should be in Column 7 in row 2 or 5 to clear the huge wave\
  • This is what you should aim for by the end of the first flag

28 of 77

Normal Survivals: Pool - Flag 2+

  • After the first flag, you will 99% of the time need more Sunflowers so take the selected plants up to the 8th slot
  • Your 9th Seed Slot can be Repeater or Magnet depending on the spawns
  • Alternatively you can forget about the Squash and take Repeater/Torchwood, but I would only recommend this if you get a spawn without Coneheads and Bucketheads
  • Aim to always have Lily pads in Column 5 of the Pool at all times for Ambush Zombies
  • Make sure to Doom every Huge wave
  • All Dooms should be planted in Column 7 or 8 of the Pool

29 of 77

Normal Survivals: Roof - Flag 1

  • For the first flag of Roof, take the selected plants and make sure Future is enabled
  • Buy the Rake
  • Let the first Zombie die to the Rake and the next 2 die to a Squash on Column 3
  • Then set up a Gloom in Column 9, Row 3
  • Redirect zombies to the Gloom with Garlic and get the rest of your sunflowers up
  • The first Doom should be placed in Column 7, Row 3
  • This is the setup you should aim for by the end of Flag 1

30 of 77

Normal Survivals: Roof - Flag 2+

  • After the first flag you’ll want to take the selected plants
  • For the 9th Slot take either Repeater or Magnet depending on the spawn
  • You may not be able to get as many Magnets up because of craters so sometimes it’s best to sacrifice Torchwoods for them instead
  • Make sure to Doom every final wave
  • This level can be tough without Imitator because you will likely need to take Imitator Pumpkin to protect your Glooms
  • Aim for this setup for the rest of the level

31 of 77

Normal Survival: Fog - Flag 1

  • For the first flag of Fog take the selected plants (Ignore the asleep mushrooms, the editor only has a sleeping version of them)
  • You’ll need to plant 4 columns of Sun Shrooms/Sunflowers
  • The goal of the first flag is to clear it with just Puff Shrooms and instants to try and build up as much sun production as possible
  • If you don’t have Imitater, take Squash instead
  • Aim for this setup by the end of the flag, the more sun production, the better

32 of 77

Normal Survival: Fog - Flag 2+

  • After the first flag you’ll want to take the selected plants
  • If the Flag calls for Magnets, take them
  • Otherwise take Repeater in your 9th Slot
  • This is the setup you should aim for after for the rest of the level
  • Your priority should be to get your Glooms up and keep them there
  • The advice for Lily Pad placement and Doom Shroom usage that was given for Pool also applies here

33 of 77

Normal Survival: Night - Flag 1

  • By this point you should have enough money for the Imitator, if not then you got seriously unlucky
  • Your first Seed selection only needs the first 7 plants in the list, the remaining 2 plants don’t matter that much but hypno or scaredy or fume are cheap and quick to select
  • Fume can be planted at the very end of the flag to prepare for the Glooms
  • For the first flag, place your Sunflowers in Column 4 and the Sun Shrooms behind, fill up the rest of the lawn with Puff Shrooms
  • Try to bust most, if not all graves
  • Remember to leave at least one lawn slot open to force the end of the flag grave to spawn there

34 of 77

Normal Survival: Night - Flag 2+

  • For the second flag take the selected plants
  • Repeater or Magnet can be your 9th slot
  • Place a Gloom in Column 9, Row 3 and use Garlic to redirect zombies to it. Keep building up Glooms and using Puffs
  • For the third flag onwards, build up Repeaters, Magnets and your final Glooms
  • Make sure to Doom every wave
  • Aim for this setup for the rest of the level
  • Remember to leave one space open at the end of every Flag except for the last one

35 of 77

Pogo Party

  • The strat is the same as the one in All Minigames but without Jalapeno, it’s riskier though so sometimes it’s best to let go of a 2nd Pogo Zombie for safety
  • Essentially, on the first flag you want to set up a wall of Squashes on Column 8 to kill the Pogos and then get up Column 8 Glooms, back them up with Split Peas and continue to plant Squashes to keep Pogos from getting through
  • Make sure to practise this mini-game if you’re unfamiliar with it
  • If you’re not comfortable with this strategy, you can if so wish do Pogo Party after Wall-Nut Bowling 2, but you won’t have Imitator. Instead take the Jalapeno
  • Make sure you have rake for this!

36 of 77

Bobsled Bonanza

  • The strat is the same as the one in All Minigames but without Potato Mine, check there for more detail
  • Essentially you want to kill all ice-trails but leave one out as shown here to keep Zombonis and Bobsled Teams spawning
  • Use Spikerocks on the remaining rows
  • Make sure to also have Dooms prepped in the pool for huge waves and use the Cherry Bomb on Bobsleds on every 9th Wave

37 of 77

Hard Survival: Night - Flags 1/2

  • For the first flag, take the selected plants and buy the rake
  • On the first two flags you want to use Puff Shrooms until you can get your first Glooms up
  • Build them on Rows 2 and 4 with Pumpkins to protect them
  • Spam Sunflowers instead of Sun Shrooms once you’re consistently over 100 sun
  • Clear the graves and make sure that no more can spawn in the middle of the lawn by having other plants there. Doom the final wave

38 of 77

Hard Survival: Night - Flag 3+

  • For Flags 3/4, focus on Repeaters/Gatling Peas more than Glooms, but make sure that if it’s possible you also get up your remaining Glooms
  • If it looks like your Glooms are going to get crushed at any point, take Spikeweed and Spikerock instead
  • For Flags 5 onwards, keep focusing on your Gatlings
  • If you get Gargs then you can place Pumpkins on Column 3 to protect your plants from the Imps
  • Gargs don’t spawn in the top row
  • It’s very possible to beat this entire level without Gatling by instead using Repeaters and going far more aggressive with them
  • Aim for this setup for the rest of the level

39 of 77

Hard Survival: Fog - Flags 1/2

  • For the first flag, take the selected plants
  • If you’re not confident in your ability to quickly deal with Pool Zombies then you can take the Sea-Shroom over the Sunflower
  • The idea with this level is to build Column 8 Glooms on the lawn before Flag 3 since we do not have enough Seed Slots to take Pumpkin without losing too much time
  • We will then plant all other Glooms on Column 9
  • To start off, use Puff shrooms until you can afford the first gloom and then focus on Glooms
  • Start with the lawn glooms first
  • If you’re worried that Coneheads may eat your glooms you can stall them with Puff Shrooms and even defend them with Fume Shrooms

40 of 77

Hard Survival: Fog - Flag 3+

  • For Flags 3/4, get up the Pool Glooms first and then start planting the rest of the ones on the lawn on Column 9, defended with Pumpkins
  • You should also make sure you’re putting up Gatlings quickly
  • If you see a Dolphin spawn on Flags 3/4, you can deal with them either by taking Tall-Nut and placing it in Column 7 in the Pool
  • For Flags 5 onwards, keep on building Gatlings and make sure to keep everything defended
  • Gargs should be easier to deal with on this level
  • Aim for this setup for the rest of the level

41 of 77

Hard Survival: Day - Flags 1/2

  • Take the selected plants
  • For the first flag, your Sunflowers should be planted in every empty space on the lawn
  • Column 9 should have 3-4 Glooms (starting with Rows 2 and 4) and then Column 8 should have Magnets
  • You will likely only need at least 3
  • You can choose to do Sunny Days (save up 8K sun in one level) here and save up during the 3rd flag instead of immediately digging up your sunflowers to place repeaters and gatling peas like crazy

42 of 77

Hard Survival: Day - Flag 3+

  • For Flags 3-4, you want to start planting Gatlings and Torchwoods
  • Just focus on Gatling Peas/Torchwoods for the rest of the level
  • Once you get to Flag 5 onwards, your gatlings should be able to easily deal with everything that comes up
  • If your Glooms get destroyed then replace them with Spikerocks
  • If Gargs spawn, use Pumpkins on Column 3 to protect your plants
  • This level is very straightforward and pretty easy, aim for this setup

43 of 77

Hard Survival: Pool - Flags 1/2

  • Make sure to buy the rake
  • For the first flag, take the selected plants and build up all your Sunflowers on the Top-Half as your first Gloom should be on Column 9, Row 2
  • Use the Squash to deal with stray zombies and/or Coneheads so you can progress through the level faster
  • Build your 2nd Gloom in Row 5, get up at least 2 Magnet-Shrooms to deal with any Bucketheads and then Doom the final wave
  • Like the rest of the Survivals, do not stop planting Sunflowers for this first couple of Flags and if you feel like Sun-Production is low then take Sunflower in future Flags
  • You can choose to do Sunny Days (save up 8K sun in one level) here by saving up sun during the third flag instead of spending it all immediately on repeaters and gatling peas

44 of 77

Hard Survival: Pool - Flag 3+

  • For Flags 3 onwards, your priority should be getting up all of your Gloom-Shrooms and Gatling Peas, only worrying about Magnets if the Zombie Spawns call for it
  • Don’t expect to get all these Gatling Peas up, but try to plant as many as you can.
  • If Zombonis/Catapult Zombies spawn, replace the Glooms with Spikerocks, but if you can re-establish your Glooms afterwards then do that
  • For dealing with Gargs, you should have so much firepower that they get taken out pretty quickly
  • You can plant Repeaters in Column 1 to deal with Imps. If you get absolutely SWARMED with Gargs or it’s Wave 9 of the Flag then you can use an Instant like the Cherry or Squash

45 of 77

Survival Hard: Roof - Flags 1/2

  • Select these plants for the first flag
  • Your objective for Flag 1 is to primarily gather sun for your Cobs later on
  • Your Glooms should be placed on Column 8 to mitigate the risk of Catapult Zombies ruining your setup
  • Use Garlic to redirect zombies on Rows 1 and 5 to your Glooms (remember to keep Future enabled!)
  • Try to get as many sunflowers as possible up here, cobs are VERY expensive
  • In this level we hope to get gargs to spawn so we can get the achievement “Popcorn Party” by killing two of them with cob cannons

46 of 77

Survival Hard: Roof - Flag 3+

  • For Flags 3/4 take the selected plants
  • You can also choose to take Gloom stuff if you want to try and maintain them while you build up Cobs, but it depends on spawns
  • Umbrella Leaves MUST be planted quickly to protect rows 5-7 as that’s where your cobs will be, if any Zombies land there on the final wave you will risk losing those Cobs
  • Only plant the Gloom Shrooms at the back if you’re expecting Gargantuars, this helps deal with Imps
  • 8-10 cobs is optimal as it can deal with Gargantuars
  • If your Cobs are on cooldown use Dooms to deal with the current wave (Imitator Doom is a great backup)
  • DO NOT GRAB THE GOLDEN SUNFLOWER TROPHY WHEN YOU BEAT THE LEVEL

47 of 77

Achievements Earned

  • Don’t Pea in the Pool
  • Beyond the Grave
  • Sunny Days
  • Popcorn Party (Maybe)
  • Nobel Peas Prize

Money Grinding (1)

49 of 77

Golden Sunflower Trophy

  • Hopefully you listened to the bottom of the last Survivals slide or you will have added 30+ minutes to your run
  • We will once again be using our old friend of save-scumming to aid us in this run
  • This time we will be using it to make infinite money
  • With the Golden Sunflower Trophy on screen exit to the main menu
  • Go back into the level and grab the trophy, this gives you 5,000 Coins and whatever else is on screen
  • Going back in will cause the trophy to spawn again and give you another 5,000 Coins
  • Repeat this until you have the desired amount of money

50 of 77

Decisions

  • There are two paths you can take here
  • You can get all of your money now, grow the wisdom tree to 100 ft for the “Towering Wisdom” achievement, and buy all of the plants from the shop for the “Morticulturalist” achievement, and buy 10 slots
  • Or you can just get enough to buy every plant and 10 slots and continue onto NG+
  • The first choice is safer, but the second choice can save you some slight time later by subtracting the money earned from NG+ and Survival: Endless from the amount you need to grind out by savescumming

51 of 77

Achievements Earned

  • Morticulturalist
  • Towering Wisdom (Maybe)

52 of 77

New Game+ (NG+)

53 of 77

Preface

  • For the NG+ portion of this run, we will only be playing up until 4-9
    • We enter 4-10, we just leave immediately to get the “Cryptozombologist” achievement, which is the only reason we need to play NG+ in the first place
  • Make sure to have rake for all daytime levels (Day and Pool)
    • Night and Fog are optional and not really needed due to double puff and other factors
  • Only the left 7 plants are necessary for the level, pick the other three plants (left to right in importance) if Dave happens to give you a plant from the other 7
    • Or maybe he’ll just give you that extra plant anyway!
  • Without the Golden Sunflower Trophy save-scumming we would only have 9 slots to do NG+ which really only becomes scary in Pool
    • For you crazies that want to do this glitchless
  • Information will likely be very similar from slide to slide with some minor changes based on the strategy in use
    • The exceptions for this are achievement earning levels

54 of 77

Day Levels + Seeds/Setup (1-1)

  • In this level we will be achieving the “Good Morning” achievement
  • This achievement has us beating a daytime level with only mushrooms and coffee bean
  • Unfortunately for us, sunshroom takes several minutes to make any sort of sun profit at all during the day
  • Thus we will be completing the first level without any sun plants
  • Luckily for us, using Puff-Shroom as a staller we can get enough sun to plant and wake up two Gloom-Shrooms by the start of the second flag
  • With this you can squeak out enough sun to Doom the 20th wave, and sometimes even the 19th as well

55 of 77

Day Levels + Seeds/Setup (1-2 through 1-7)

  • Place 5 Sunflowers on one same row, use Squash if the second zombie shows up there
  • If the third zombie spawns there, wait for the Squash

  • Funny enough, once you enter the level, the game adds the Yeti to your Almanac

Flags 1/2

  • Make sure you have rake and take the selected plants
  • Get down Glooms and as many sunflowers as you can as fast as you can during the first flag
  • These flags are not about speed as much as they are about getting sun production up and the first couple of cob cannons out
  • Start placing cob cannons in the pool during the second flag whenever you can
  • To immediately take care of pool ambush zombies, shoot a cob cannon in Column 6 between Row 3-4 right as the text for the huge wave fades

73 of 77

Final Setup

  • Try to replicate this setup the best that you can
  • The pool glooms are unnecessary, but will likely remain as a byproduct of earlier rounds
  • Gargs can spawn in the top row during Survival: Endless only
  • Giga-gargs eventually start spawning which take FOUR instants to kill instead of two
  • Good timing and paying attention will help a lot with this portion of the run
  • The glooms are helpful for imps and dancer zombies, and the winter-melon helps keep more zombies in the blast radius of your cobs
  • You must start the 21st wave of Survival: Endless to earn your achievement
