Descriptive Paragraphs

Instructions: Work in groups. Read the paragraphs. For each paragraph, underline the topic sentence in yellow, and add one supporting sentence and highlight it with green.

My favorite color is red. I like red because it is the color of apples, and apples are my favorite fruit. I also like red because I think it is the color of love.

My favorite sport is soccer. One of the reasons is because I love going to the stadium to watch soccer games. I also like to watch international soccer on TV.

My favorite place is my house. I love my house because it is quiet and cozy. Also, I am with my family when I am in my house. I love my house and my family.

My favorite time of the day is the morning. I like the morning because the sky is blue and the sun shines. In the morning, I have energy to exercise and work. I feel very happy in the morning.
