The Sun, the Earth, the Moon

We live on the Earth. It is round. It is full of wonders. The Sun lights up the Earth. The Sun is really a star. The Earth turns around each day. The half of the Earth which meets the Sun is light. It is daytime on this half. The other half is dark. It is night on that half. The Sun is a million times bigger than the Earth. It’s much closer to the Earth than other stars. It gives us light and heat. So it gives us life. Plants and animals cannot live without the Sun either.

The Moon is our nearest neighbor in space. The Moon is smaller than the Earth and it moves around it. It takes spaceships three days to fly to the Moon. People use telescopes to study the Moon, the stars and the planets.

Our planet is full of wonders. There is a lot of water on the Earth. There are a lot of fields and mountains. It is a real pleasure to look at the sunrise in the early morning or at the sunset in the evening. We must do our best to keep our planet clean.
