Open Knowledge
Open knowledge is a necessary condition for solving the climate crisis.
Without global climate solutions built on open and transparent research, data, and educational resources, we risk running out of time.
IF WE ARE GOING TO SOLVE THE WORLD’S BIGGEST PROBLEMS,
THE KNOWLEDGE ABOUT THEM MUST BE OPEN

The webinars are designed to communicate information from experts on the processes of the UNFCCC Conference of the Parties to empower individuals and organizations at the intersection of open and climate to highlight the role of open in solving climate change.
This is also a space for organizations to catalyze conversations around the importance of open to addressing climate change and build momentum.
With the ultimate goal of the requirement of open being added to documentation.

Working with preprint servers and funders to increase the adoption of CC BY on preprints… including climate change research.
OKF has worked on open data and DPIs for years.
OKF is launching a new initiative called #TheTechWeWantHow does open climate work intersect with these initiatives?

What are you, the audience, doing to create and use DPGs to solve climate change in your countries?
What changes could you make to openly license and share more knowledge about climate change?
Are your national and provincial / state institutions generating climate related science, research and educational resources today? Are those outputs DPGs?If they are not, how might you make your climate outputs open and to share them globally?
Thank You!
