I was born and raised in Lafayette as a Rajun Cajun! I spent the weekends surrounded by family and gained a strong work ethic by working in the fields with my grandparents from a very young age. I have dreamed of becoming a teacher for as long as I can remember. I have always had a strong passion for languages, especially French, Spanish, Latin, Greek and the arts, particularly painting and the ballet.
I received my Bachelor’s in Elementary Education in 2006 from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette. I am certified in grades PK-2 and Elementary grades 1-6. I graduated with my Master’s Degree in Curriculum and Instruction with a concentration in Reading Literacy in December 2024 from the Louisiana State University at Shreveport. My teaching experience includes 4 years of 1st grade, 3 years of 2nd grade, 3 years of Kindergarten, and 2 years of Targeted Kindergarten. I also served as the Senior Instructor for the State of Louisiana in financial literacy for 10 years, and served as an editor on the State Curriculum Committee for the current edition.

I have 2 beautiful girls, Gracie, 18, and Madeline 15. I have an amazing Fiance’, Jason, and will be gaining a beautiful third daughter, Madison, 22 next year. We have 2 dogs, Brees and Henry, and 2 guinea pigs, Gumbo and Paddington. My family is my world! The best place to find me will be in my garden, with family and friends, curled up with a good book in my library, building something, or on an airplane. I have attained the rating of a Highly Effective Teacher and use gentle parenting and Montessori techniques in my classroom.
