We give a visual representation of flood water effects on drivers’ cars.

People who are not used to flooding in their area or have limited experience with flooding waters need to be better informed.

USGS has an app for Texas stream and river levels, but not for roads specifically.

Flood Patrol from Up Noah is a local application for Manila, Philippines.

Flood-American Red Cross is an app for flood preparedness only.

We provide the user data about how easily their car can be stalled or swept away by flooding water

Each year more deaths occur due to flooding than any other severe weather related hazard.

More than half of all deaths occur from when a vehicle is driven into hazardous flood water.

Most people do not have coverage for their cars that covers flooding.

Just 6” of water can cause loss of control or stalling.

Many cars can float in as little as 1’ of water, and can be swept away in as little as 2’ of water.

Next Steps

What next?

More features!

  • Take a picture of the side of your home and have the app overlay predicted water levels, again giving the user feedback about specific dangers relating to different water levels.
  • Send a picture and location to loved ones via messenger apps to warn them about flooding dangers on the road or current threats to your home.
  • Safe driver points for insurance companies, where the app recognizes when a user heeded the app’s advice.
  • Recording specific water level data for city use or car insurance company use.
