Of his humanity –

How Jesus struggled with himself

Sometimes in agony.

Temptation came to him,

Just like to you and me;

Each day he had to choose again

To live love constantly.

Sometimes he was alone

When tempted to succumb;

But calling on God’s strength within

He then could overcome.

To struggle for the right,

But fail and do the wrong -

Is like, when singing out of tune,

We can destroy the song.

But victory can be ours;

The battle can be won;

With our companion God within

Our triumph has begun.
