MECC Wellness Coordinator

Our mental wellness coordinator works with students and staff throughout the building to promote positive mental health.

The coordinator works closely with counselors, teachers, and administrators to support:

    • Creating and maintaining environments that promote building wellness
    • Implementing tools and strategies for students facing social, emotional, and behavioral health challenges
    • Connecting families to available community resources.

Playground

  • Students enjoy outdoor recess daily as long as weather permits.

  • 1st and 2nd graders access the playground on the North side of the building.

Cafeteria

Students may pack lunch or purchase a school lunch. All students will learn their ID numbers for lunch purchasing. Parents may add money to lunch accounts at any time.

MECC Extended Care

The MECC Extended Care Program is for those children whose parents work and are not able to be home before or after the regular school hours. This program is ONLY for those children who attend the Mason City Schools. The Extended Care Program operates from 6:15 am until the opening of school and from the closing of school until 6:00 pm every day that MECC is in session.
