ABOUT MR. NOGUERA

  • 13th Year Teaching
    • Completed Student Teaching at Kennedy in 8th Grade History during the 2012-2013 School Year.
    • Spent first 5 Years in 7th Grade History.
  • Prior to teaching, 3 years as an Instructional Aide in CUSD
  • Undergraduate-UC Berkeley, BA with High Honors in Political Science and Distinction in General Scholarship-2009
  • Graduate-Santa Clara University, MA in Teaching and Single Subject Credential in the Social Sciences-2013
  • Single Subject English Authorization-2016
  • Completed Administrative Credential Program and Eligible for Administrative Credential-2023

  • Questions allows us to bridge content between our subjects so that we can go in depth across content areas.
  • For example, how can I use argumentation explain which right in the Bill of Rights is most important today and why?

Constructing The Narrative: The impact of the Gold Rush in California

  • Using Primary and Secondary sources, what would the textbook introduction be for how did the Gold Rush influence San Francisco’s development in the mid 1800s?
  • Students will be analyzing documents, using sourcing to know of a document’s origin, and breaking down images to describe the impact including:
    • What were some successes? Challenges? Failures?
    • What is one big idea we should take away about the Gold Rush in CA? Why is that idea important?

  • LATE WORK WILL BE ACCEPTED!!!!!!
    • Assignments not turned in will count as a 0 in the gradebook until turned in!
    • Turn in even if students do not receive full credit.
