What are 9th grade communities?

  • Core teachers (English, Physics, Math) meet regularly to plan activities and develop creative strategies to support students.
  • As a student, you will be in cohort that will have the same core class. There are some exceptions, but you will most likely be with the same core group of students for a least 2-3 core classes, sometime including your electives!
  • Last year 88% of 9th grade students were on Track to Graduate. On Track to Graduate means you pass 6 of 8 classes (and passed all your core classes: English, math, science)

5 of 10

A Days- You attend the first 4 out of 8 classes. Period 1, 2, 3, 4.

B Days - You attend the second half of your scheduled classes. Period 5, 6, 7, 8

Tutorial Days: Classes are shorter and you will have the last 45 minutes of the school day to connect with your teachers to make up tests, homework help, or to get caught up.
