My Theme and big idea

  • Throughout life, even when we want to be alone, it is better to stick together, because together, we can overcome and achieve anything
  • My project is showing what you shouldn’t do. I worked on this project by myself, and because of that and the lack of time, I wasn’t able to finish. Instead, if I would have had help, my project would be so much better, because my friends would have been part of it
  • My big idea is about family and friends helping you through your hard times, and not leaving you alone.

The process of planning

  1. Draft: 2. Three coil designs with symbolic

meanings

The different paths of life that your friends can help you through

Symbolize the “whirlpools” that you get stuck in sometimes and your friends help you get out of them

I wanted the fish in the middle of all the coils to show that he is trapped

The process of planning

2. Three coil designs with 3. Objects related to theme

symbolic meaning (#3)

The ups and downs of life that friends can help you through

I decided to do fish because fish always travel together, and also because my coils look like the ocean.

My critique

What was Good?:

  • There were no air bubbles in my clay project
  • The object didn’t fall off, and everything stayed on as well
  • I put a lot of effort into trying to smooth out the clay, so my sculpture was pretty smooth

My critique part 2

How Could I Improve?:

  • Since I skipped a few classes, I didn’t have enough time to fully complete my project, so I only had two coils. I could improve by adding another
  • I didn’t have enough time to add enough fish like I planned. I could improve by adding more fish
  • My paint job wasn’t the best, so I could improve the paint

conclusion

What are the new things/feelings I discovered about myself through this project?:

  • I discovered that I can create a deeper meaning about my project, even when things don’t go as planned

Have I tried my best effort to create a positive learning environment for everyone in this classroom?:

  • I try my best most of the time, but I usually speak a lot with my friends

Conclusion part 2

How do I clean up for every art class?:

  • Most of the time, I stack the chairs and stools, but now, since we are doing clay, I clean the paint brushes, the pallets, and the cups for the water
