The Path Forward

  • Professional Development focused upon research-based pedagogical strategies
    • Classroom Instruction that Works (district-wide)
    • Strong foundation in reading skills: IMSE Orton-Gillingham (K-2) and

IMSE Morphology (3-5)

  • Literacy-based initiatives in each building
  • Continuing metacognitive models of math instruction in Bridges (K-5) and Desmos (6-12)
  • At LHS, continued focus on Peter Liljedahl’s Thinking Classrooms approach, emphasizing how a shift in instructional design leads to more active student engagement, independent thinking, and academic growth (9-12).
