Computer Science Learning & Kibo!

After planning and creating their program, pairs of programmers practiced using Kibo’s scanner to input the program in to the robot! Then, we got to see Kibo’s movements, debug any problems, and see our programs in action!

Kindergarten Round-Up is a chance for our TK/Kindergarten parents to familiarize themselves with the school environment. They will meet the Principal and Staff, take a tour of the campus and learn about the expectations of TK/Kindergarten.

El redondeo de Kinder es una oportunidad para que nuestros padres de TK/Kinder puedan familiarizarse con el ambiente escolar.

Staff and parents will be available to welcome parents and share ways to be involved in their child's school experience. Facultad y padres estarán disponibles para darle la bienvenida a nuevos padres y compartir maneras de cómo involucrarse en la experiencia escolar de su niño(a).

Some parents have questions about their child's readiness for TK/kindergarten - Round-Up will offer resources for supporting your child to be ready for TK/Kinder / Algunos padres tendrán preguntas sobre la preparación de su niño(a) para el TK y kinder- El redondeo ofrecerá recursos para apoyar a su niño(a) para su preparación en el TK/ Kinder.

TK/K Readiness Goals

from Kinder in 2019,

to 4th in 2023!

Language Skills

• Use words to express needs and wants
• Understand two-step directions
• Make comparisons & describe relationships between objects (like big/little, under/over)

Self-Care Skills

• Use the bathroom and wash up on their own
• Get dressed on their own (but may still need help with buttons, zippers & shoelaces)
• Know and can say their first and last name and age
• Unzip and zip up jacket
• Open & close tupperware, lunchbox, etc.

Social & Emotional Skills

• Separate from a parent or caregiver without getting overly upset
• Interact with other kids
• Pay attention for at least five minutes to a task an adult is leading, like listening to directions for an activity or discussing the day’s weather during circle time
