  • Green Roof/Garden: This open roof garden has a seating and lounge area for guest.

Pavement Plan:

Cement Concrete: Used for the concrete slab. Gives building a stronger foundation and is more durable.

Hot-Mix Asphalt: Used for the surrounding area including parking and trails. This can span the site and is cheaper than cement.

We opted not to use permeable pavement due to Chicago's cold weather, since the pavement might clog during the freeze/thaw cycle.

In regards to the green roof, we would also like to incorporate green energy with the usage of installed solar panels along the roof. While a majority of our power would come from non-reusable energy, we found it important to also incorporate clean energy to power the light sources incorporated onto our roof. We really want our green space to truly be all green.
