What is Doctopus and Goobric, you ask??

Goobric is a Google Chrome extension, and Doctopus is a Google Sheets add-on.

Combined, they allow an efficient way to grade work and provide feedback to students, all from one tab!

All you need is...

Google Classroom

Student work submitted and ready for grading

A rubric created in Google Sheets saved in your drive

A teeny bit of patience for the rubric creation and initial downloading process of student work.

Second, add the Goobric Extension to Google Chrome.

Be sure to be signed in on the same account you use for Classroom

Add Doctopus to Sheets

Once it has uploaded:

Once your assignment is ingested, you will see all your students’ submissions:

Then you attach your Goobric.

Once you hit “Attach Goobric”, this window will pop up:

After your Goobric is attached, you will get a new link

Once you click the Goobric link, the heavens part, and all’s right with the world!

Click where they fall on the rubric for each criterion. .

Add up their scores, and write your feedback.

Once you hit ‘Submit’, the student will be emailed with the rubric attached to their doc, and the comments you wrote to them.
