What is SDP?

“Self-determination is a voluntary regional center program that provides participants with an individual budget, which they can use to purchase the services and supports they need to implement their person-centered plan (PCP) and Individual Program Plan (IPP).”

Summary

  • You, the participant, have the power to choose services that you want, that support your personal goals
  • You get to choose who is part of your support team, and who will help you make decisions
  • The Regional Center is still involved with planning and budgeting, but YOU get to make decisions about what services you want and who you want to provide those services

Independent Facilitator (IF)

  • Can be paid or unpaid.
  • Family members can be IFs
  • Service providers (ITG employees) CANNOT be IFs, but can be a part of your support team!

Financial Management Services (FMS)

Budget�Your annual budget under SDP is based on the money KRC has spent on your services in the last 12 months. This can be adjusted based on unmet needs or change of circumstances. If you are a new KRC client, the budget will be estimated based on needs.
