Planning Days

ML teacher should be present at each grade level planning day in order to help discuss how to reach multilingual learners when planning the use of instructional scaffolds and strategies.

Get feedback from teachers about what they would like to discuss at planning days rather than having an agenda already set; let the teachers guide the decision of what PD to have during the day

I'd like to be able to visit other teacher's classrooms during our planning days to see how they implement things and gather tips/ideas.

Family Engagement Events

Skate night, Movie night (with Mrs. Runyan's outdoor projectors), Ornament decorating night

Split the staff into different nights so that depending on the event different staff are required to attend, will reduce teachers who are just sitting around and feeling like they aren't needed at the events

Make them more long-term beneficial to the families. Hold English classes for those who want to learn. Hold computer lab open hours for families who need internet access to pay bills or take online classes. Provide financial planning classes with community partners and healthy cooking classes with info about local food banks.

Parent University? Helpful classes for parents such as how to's, positive parenting classes, how to translate (using google apps) teaching the parents
