Housing Action Plan (2021)

“There is a pressing need for over 500 housing units in Brattleboro, of which nearly 60% are needed for those with incomes under $50,000.

A variety of housing types and price points are needed, however, attainable-level rental units in the downtown and surrounding areas are an urgent need.”

Take Action!

  • Review your Zoning – Brattleboro’s zoning is not 50 years old (it is from 2015) and we still find barriers
  • Take advantage of grants to do the planning and regulatory reform – Municipal Planning Grant and Bylaw Modernization Grant

  • Don’t expect people to show up at meetings – go to them!
  • Cultivate small scale developers
