Detection Zone Test

The test allows to determine the distance at which the detector will detect alarms

In test mode, the light indicator lights up continuously, switching off during the alarm.

In order to determine the detection area, use the device light indication as a guide.

Detection Zone Test

Device

Procedure of testing

  • DoorProtect
  • DoorProtect Plus

Open and close the door/window. If the detector responds to all actions, it is installed correctly.

  • MotionProtect
  • MotionProtect Plus
  • MotionProtect Curtain

Walk across the room, following the LED reaction, and determine the detector detection area. Maximum motion detection distance is 12 meters.

  • MotionProtect Outdoor

Contains motion detector and sensor masking tests.

  • In order to check the motion detector, walk around the premises while observing the LED and determine the detection zone of the detector.
  • In order to check the masking sensors, block the view of the detector. For example, with an opaque A4 sheet of paper. If the detector does not respond to masking, contact the Ajax support service.

If the detector does not always respond to the action during the test, it should be mounted elsewhere.

Detection Zone Test

Device

Procedure of testing

  • GlassProtect

Registers an alarm if it detects two components: a low-frequency component (sound of impact against glass) and a high-frequency component (impacts of shards against each other).

Bang the hard surface with your fist (preferably the glass plane, but without breaking it). The detector must respond to the low-frequency sound of the impact against the glass, turning off the LED for 0.2 s. If this happens, throw a metal object (for example, a spoon) at the hard surface or hit it with a glass tumbler within one and a half seconds. The detector will turn off the LED for a second; this means that in armed mode the glass break detector will normally respond to the glass breaking.

  • CombiProtect

Combines MotionProtect and GlassProtect testing procedure.

If the detector does not always respond to the action during the test, it should be mounted elsewhere.

Jeweller Signal Strength Test

The test allows to determine signal strength and stability in the supposed installation place, and hence the system functionality

The tests do not start straight away but within a period of 36 seconds when using the standard settings.

The current signal strength reflects in the Ajax app and simultaneously by means of the LED on the body

Indication in the app

Indication of the device LED

Lights up almost continuously with a short interruption once in 1.5 s

Satisfactory

Blinks 5 times per second (blinks quickly)

Blinks 2 times per second (blinks slowly)

Poor

Quick flashes once in 1.5 s

No connection

It is recommended to install the device in a location with excellent or satisfactory signal bars.

If the signal strength is poor try to relocate it. Relocation even by 20 cm might significantly improve the reception quality.

Use a radio signal range extender ReX if the device still has a low or unstable signal strength.

Passcode for the app

Allows users to protect an access with a password or using biometric data*: fingerprint, face recognition

By protecting an access to the App, you exclude the third-party access to the security system

*Biometric reading must be supported by your device

42 of 48

Account sessions tracking

Allows users to see the information about devices from which your account is used to login into Ajax app

Each login from another device is a new session

When a new session is detected on another device, the Ajax app sends you a notification with information about the device: model, software version, Ajax app version and IP address.

By tracking account sessions on other devices, you can quickly disable access of certain devices to your Ajax account

43 of 48

Two-factor authentication

Intruders can’t access your security system, even if they have your login and password

In order to access the account you must enter not only the login and password, but also a one-time code generated by a third-party authenticator app

44 of 48

Two-factor authentication

How to enable 2FA:

After you log in on one device, a verification code is no longer requested until you log out of your account or change your password.

Please update the Ajax app on all your devices. You won’t be able to log in to your account by two-factor authentication procedure when using the version of the app that does not support it.

Make sure that the time on your device is synchronized with the network time. If the time is set by the user manually (not automatically), the verification code from the authenticator app will be recognized as wrong.

Install an authentication app that generates one-time codes, such as Google Authenticator, Duo Mobile, or Tofu

1

Open the Ajax app, click on the menu icon in the upper left corner and go to the account settings

2

Connect an authentication app following the on-screen instructions in the 2FA menu

3

Enter the 6-digit verification code generated by the app and press Verify. 2FA is successfully enabled.

Ensure physical security of devices from which you can manage the security system: do not pass your unlocked phone to strangers, do not leave your phone unattended.

Create a strong password for your Ajax account. It needs to contain lowercase and capital letters, numbers and symbols.

Set a passcode on opening the Ajax app.

Enable two-factor authentication for your Ajax account.

Check and disconnect unnecessary account sessions on other devices.
