Current Work:

The Freeport School District is currently in Phase II of the rollout plan (2022-2023 Building Capacity).

Information regarding the new standards has been shared with staff. Two professional development meetings have been scheduled to unpack the standards and begin implementation.

Professional development regarding the new PE standards has also been scheduled for Superintendent’s Conference Day (November 8th). The PE teachers will meet, analyze, evaluate and apply the new standards to current and new curriculum.

There has been very little information regarding the new PE standards or professional development opportunities offered by BOCES or NYSED. Additional trainings will be requested from our local organizations (COA, BOCES, PE Consortium, NYSAHPERD) and additional professional development and curriculum writing projects will added as necessary.
