Expanded Form

Expanded Form is taking the places of the number ( ones place and tens place) and creating an addition expression with that. For example, the expanded form for 45 is:

40 + 5.

8 of 37

Word Form

For word form, we write down how to spell that number. For example, 40 is forty and 61 is sixty-one.

9 of 37

Tens and Ones

Last year, you learn about the ones place and the tens place. For example, in 82, that is 8 tens + 2 ones, which means 8 is in the tens place and 2 is in the ones place.
