Going deep into our number theory…
Standard Form
Standard Form is the way we regularly write down a number. For example, the number 23 is standard form. Standard form is how we regularly write down numbers.
Expanded Form
Expanded Form is taking the places of the number ( ones place and tens place) and creating an addition expression with that. For example, the expanded form for 45 is:
40 + 5.
Word Form
For word form, we write down how to spell that number. For example, 40 is forty and 61 is sixty-one.
Tens and Ones
Last year, you learn about the ones place and the tens place. For example, in 82, that is 8 tens + 2 ones, which means 8 is in the tens place and 2 is in the ones place.
