Fraternity and Sorority Life at Rowan University is more than just letters — it’s leadership, growth, and community. Our values-based organizations give students the chance to connect with peers who share their passions, build leadership skills, give back through service, and strive for academic success.
We’re here to help students find a sense of belonging, explore who they are, and prepare for life after college — all while making lifelong friends and unforgettable memories.

Deferred Recruitment
We believe it’s important for a student to adjust to college life before adding the responsibilities of Greek membership. We follow a deferred recruitment model — meaning first-year students must complete a full semester before becoming eligible to join a fraternity or sorority.

Eligibility
To join a fraternity or sorority at Rowan, students must:
• Be enrolled full-time as a matriculated, undergraduate student
• Have a cumulative GPA of 2.5 or higher
• Have completed at least 12 college credits (earned at Rowan or transferred in)
Students must also complete university-mandated requirements before joining, and individual organizations may have their own additional membership requirements. Because every chapter has a unique process, students are encouraged to connect directly with organizations to learn more!

Unrecognized Organizations
An unrecognized group is an assembly of students who are not recognized by Rowan University as a club or organization. They operate without oversight or support from the university or our office. Some of these groups may be recruiting, hosting events, or initiating members. Without university recognition, these groups do not follow Rowan’s policies, guidelines, or safety standards, which could put students at risk.
We strongly discourage students from joining, affiliating, or engaging with these organizations.
