What’s up students and parents!
We hope everyone is staying healthy and safe out there! These are challenging times, and we will definitely miss working with you. The good news is that you already have the skills you need to keep your body healthy. We hope you can use all that we’ve learned in PE this year to stay active each day. We have included some daily workouts for you to try and also shared links of resources and activities you can check out. Stay tuned for weekly updates every Monday from the PE team.
We are suggesting 30 minutes daily of physical activity using the variety of resources in these slides or incorporating your favorite forms of movement and exercise.
Choose your Challenge
Appetizer (Warm-up)
Make Time to Play Outside!
□ play tag
□ play hide and go seek
□ climb a tree
□ go to the playground
□ roll down a hill
□ jump off rocks
□ build a fort
□ jump rope
Main Course (Main Activity)
Choose your Challenge
□ Hit a ball with a bat or play catch or Ball Tag with someone
□ Stand on one foot while brushing teeth
□ Balance on line of masking tape on the floor (like a tightrope)
□ Dribble a soccer or basketball
□ Shoot a basketball or throw laundry into a hamper
□ Play hopscotch
□ Kick a ball back and forth
□ Play Catch with a partner
□ 1 vs 1 soccer with a friend or sibling
□ Play Wall ball or any other recess game
Main Course (Cont.)
Choose your Challenge
□ Hit a ball against a wall with a racket. Try for 10 consecutive forehand and backhand hits. Try for 10 hits while alternating forehand and backhand hits. Create patterns while hitting. Try for 10 volleys. Play with an opponent or King/Queen’s Court.
□ Play Disc Golf and jog between throws. Practice different ways of throwing while paying attention to the angle of your throw, the disc, and how it responds. Keep your own score and try to beat it in future rounds.
