While designing, we focused on the stakeholder’s desires, user’s pain points, and the design opportunities. The pain points are drawn from the Venn Diagram from the initial interviews, the hifi user testing notes are from hifi prototype user testing, and the design opportunities are from the heuristic evaluation.

As a team, it was interesting to learn about these pain points because users who participated in the initial interviews and survey said the website was easy to use BUT they also contradicted themselves by saying there were too many tabs and the navigation bar was too confusing.

So we reworked the information architecture and made a new sitemap. And based on that, we created an updated navigation bar.

Although the lofi usability test didn’t reveal any problems with the side bar navigation, As designers, we wanted to keep that eye flow going from top to bottom. So we decided to change the nav bar style to fit horizontally for a better overall eye flow.
