As you look at your whole schedule for the 2020-2021 school year, you could have both yearlong courses (A/B day) and semester long courses.

How do I change my schedule?

There are two fall semester windows for students to submit schedule change requests:

August 6 through August 12

This submission window is now closed. The “JHS Fall Schedule Change Request” Google Form submission will re-open August 17.

Note: Students should follow their assigned schedule even if a schedule change request has been submitted. Attendance will be taken starting Day 1.

Students can:

  • Submit the “JHS Fall Schedule Change Request” Google Form
  • Sign-up to meet with a counselor during flex time, Wellness Wednesday, or Wellness Friday for appointments regarding schedule change requests. Use your counselor’s youcanbook.me link posted on the JHS Student Services page.

Will teachers take attendance?

  • Teachers will begin recording attendance in PowerSchool on August 17.
  • Synchronous Learning Days
    • Attendance will be taken each period based on students attending the “live” class sessions. If a student misses the synchronous session, participating in small group or individual sessions with the teacher or submitting assignments on that day will count toward attendance.
  • Asynchronous Learning Days
    • Attendance will be taken based on completing the Questions of the Day for the periods that show on your schedule in PowerSchool on Wellness Wednesdays and Fridays, or through any other method of two-way communication (office hours, completing assignments, etc.) for those courses.

I did not get a ChromeBook. What do I do?

JHS Team members will be available at JHS at the following times:

    • Friday, August 14, from 11 a.m.-7 p.m.
    • Monday-Wednesday, August 17-19, from 8 a.m.-6 p.m.

Needs after August 19, can be addressed by emailing 365grp-jhstechnologyhelp@dpsnc.net.

To reset PowerSchool passwords, students can ask any of their teachers to assist.
