What is Anti-Slavery Day?

  • Anti-Slavery Day takes place annually on 18th October.

  • Anti-Slavery Day is an opportunity to raise awareness of human trafficking and modern slavery.

Did You Know?

  • Modern slavery is an issue. 50 million people worldwide are victims of modern slavery.¹
  • According to data released by the Home Office, there are 12,727 potential victims of modern slavery in the UK.² However, slavery experts in the UK believe there to be closer to 100,000 victims.³
  • Modern slavery takes many forms and includes sex trafficking, child exploitation and forced labour on farms and building sites. Victims of modern slavery can be any age or gender.
