What is a Circuit?

A circuit is a continuous path the electricity travels!

Parts of a circuit: energy source/circular path

In this case….

Energy source: battery

IN order to make a paper circuit, you need to make sure

  • There is a continuous path
  • Positive side of battery touches the long leg of LED and negative side touches short leg.

You fold the paper so that the tape touches the battery making it light up!

Why that one?

It had a

  1. Continuous path
  2. Battery and LED in the right place that connected
  3. Connected correctly to both the positive and negative side

Now….time to make your own paper circuit!

Something wrong???

Troubleshooting:

1. Check all tape is pushed down at corner connections and where LED touches

2. Make sure LED has short/- leg on left, long/+ on right

3. Make sure yellow foils don’t touch themselves between the gap where the led is supposed to go

4. Make sure the battery is positive side up

5. Make sure the correct foils were used and are in the right place

6. Make sure the fold switch is actually folded correctly and touching the battery.

7. Battery shorting if one foil piece simultaneously touches top and bottom of battery

8. Dead battery after 2+ hour use
