ROMANIA’S HIGHLIGHTS

  • Romania is a country with a rich historical background and you can still see it to this day
  • From the magnificent castles to the massive contemporary buildings of the communist era
  • It is also a religious country with a lot of big orthodox churches that quite stand out

SURPRISING FACTS

Food related

  • When we went to the restaurants we were definitely surprised by the fact that before the main course a soup is always served
  • Furthermore, we can surely say that everyone was most definitely intrigued when sparkling water was served instead of plain water

Lifestyle related

  • It came to our attention that the regulation regarding smoking is very loose, since there are indoor smoking areas which is prohibited in most European countries, including Greece
  • As far as the education system goes, it is much stricter than Greece’s. And you can most definitely see this in the absence limit being 20 per school year

OUR OVERALL IMPRESSION OF THE MOBILITY

  • Looking back, this mobility was not just a trip, it was a chance for us young Greek students to broaden our horizons, change the way we think and experience genuinely the culture of the different countries within the EU
  • You see, this made us all understand that besides the cultural and political barriers, we are not that much different as people and we have nothing to separate
  • Lastly, we could not express how thankful we are for this chance we were given
