Fun With Food 2020-2021
Purpose:
Fun With Food is a semester course that explores all things food. It will incorporate food make-up and preparation with the core classes of science, math, history, and reading. By presenting fun activities that use food as the learning tool, students will discover how those core classes are incorporated into everyday life.
Covered Topics Will Include, But Not Limited To;
Food Hacks
Edible Science experiments
The relationship of nutrition and wellness
Copy-cat foods (i.e., Twinkies, Chicken McNuggets)
The effects of consumer issues on food selection – dining out vs. dining in
Food literacy and building a healthy community
Food Borne Illnesses and Prevention
