In Standard Capture the Flag, the main objective is to steal the intelligence briefcase from the enemy team’s base and bring it back to their own.

Invade Capture the Flag
In Invade Capture the Flag, the main objective is to bring a Neutral Intelligence Briefcase, which spawns in the middle of the map, to the enemy team’s base.

Attack / Defense Capture the Flag
In Attack / Defense Capture the Flag, each team shares a different objective; The attacking team’s main goal is to bring a flag that spawns at their base to capture points that the defending team owns. The defending team, meanwhile, must defend these capture points at any cost.

Reverse Capture the Flag

In Reverse Capture the Flag, the main objective is to bring your team’s intelligence briefcase, located in your base, to the enemy team’s base and capture it.

King of the Flag
In King of the Flag, the main objective is to hold a neutral intelligence briefcase that spawns in the middle of the map for a set amount of time, as indicated by the KOTH timer.

Special Delivery
In Special Delivery, the main objective is to bring an australium briefcase to a rocket at the opposing end of the map and launch it. The briefcase powers the lift on the rocket to move.

Steal the Bacon
In Steal the Bacon, teams do not share an objective; For the BLU Team, their objective is to steal the flag from the RED team base; For the RED Team, their objective is to defend the flag as long as possible.

Examples of STB maps
Capture Some Flags
In Capture Some Flags, there are 3 flags per team. Both teams must capture each flag in a linear order, meaning they go 1-2-3, and so on. There is only one active flag at a time per team. The capture zone is whatever flag your team is currently on. Upon capture, there is a 3-second delay for the flag to reappear.

Control the Keep
In CTK, players must bring the neutral intelligence to the enemy base and defend it until their KOTH timer hits 0:00. Once it is captured once, the flag will never go neutral again.

Other CTF Modes
Basketball
A specialized 2-vs.-2 version of Invade CTF. In order to Capture, you must get the flag into the hoop.
Reverse Control the Keep
A reverse version of CTK where you bring the flag to your own base. Otherwise, plays like CTK would.
Contamination
A modern iteration of the gamemode that the TFC map, “The Rock”, used. Each flag can be captured in its own base.

Control the Keep
A combo of King of the Hill and Invade CTF. Upon a flag being captured, the KOTH timer will start. The timer will continue to tick down until the flag is brought to the enemy base.
Emergency Stop
A version of standard CTF that forces the flags to continually move forward in the map until they are captured.
Reverse Invade CTF
A combination of RCTF and ICTF. There is a neutral flag in the middle of the map which must be brought to your base.
