Three Familiar Truths:
1 The proverbs of Solomon, son of David, king of Israel:
2 To know wisdom and instruction, to understand words of insight,
3 to receive instruction in wise dealing, in righteousness, justice, and equity;
4 to give prudence to the simple, knowledge and discretion to the youth—
5 Let the wise hear and increase in learning, and the one who understands obtain guidance,
6 to understand a proverb and a saying, the words of the wise and their riddles.

Proverbs 1:1-6
11 The words of the wise are like goads, and like nails firmly fixed are the collected sayings; they are given by one Shepherd. 12 My son, beware of anything beyond these. Of making many books there is no end, and much study is a weariness of the flesh.
13 The end of the matter; all has been heard. Fear God and keep his commandments, for this is the whole duty of man.

The Bible’s Unique Work
In this digital age of overwhelming content, we must not relinquish ourselves to passivity or to egotism. And we certainly must not drown in a sea of irrelevant news and gossip. Instead, we must learn to treasure what is most valuable in the universe – God. When we turn to God, we find that the most precious wisdom and knowledge is not hidden under a mountain or embedded in the newest device, but found in Jesus Christ. He defines the purpose and meaning of all life. He orients what is important for us in the digital age, and in every age.
