What Are VoteTripling Programs?

VoteTripling Programs use technology to simplify political engagement, increase voter turnout, and strengthen American democracy.

VoteTripling programs secure a voter’s promise to encourage three friends to vote.
This tactic utilizes three behavioral science strategies to mobilize nonactivist voters and increase voter turnout. Evidence suggests that these programs significantly increase polling numbers!
These programs are typically nonpartisan. It’s important to prompt a voter to commit to talking to three or more of their friends about voting regardless of their party affiliation or who they’re voting for.

Why should we avoid going off script? - It is important in VoteTripling programs to stick as closely to the mini scripts available and avoid going off script! Since we will be texting on behalf of a VoteTripling organization, it is important that we are not sharing information that has not been specifically shared with us by the organization itself. This could get us into legal trouble.

It is also important to stay on script, since these are non-partisan programs, we are representing non-partisan beliefs, and cannot use partisan language, or mark voters we interact with, using partisan bias.

What does texting in a Non-Partisan program look like?

What does a ‘Non- Partisan’ campaign mean? - Texting in a Non-partisan campaign means that we are reaching out to voters with all political ideologies. This means that regardless of a voters political stance, or who they may be voting for, we will be engaging with them to find out their voting habits and encouraging them to Get Out The Vote.

How to use the “Opposed” RR- If someone gives a partisan reply for campaign, that doesn’t mean they are opposed! If someone says they are voting for Trump or Biden (or any candidate), you can just send the recommended reply for in-person voting. This is a nonpartisan campaign.
