    • Jesus was like us in all things but sin
      • He knew what it was like to be like you & me
      • He knew what it was like to suffer
    • Each miracle was in part meant to show that Jesus, as God, had all the power over creation
    • Jesus was 100% God AND also 100% human

Who is Jesus?

    • Jesus was like us in all things but sin
    • He experienced:
      • Suffering & pain
      • Sadness & joy
      • Friendship & love
    • Although He was tempted to sin, He resisted all temptation
    • So let’s identify if these statements are true or false

Mark 1:15

“This is the time of fulfillment. The kingdom of God is at hand. Repent, and believe in the Gospel”

    • Theme for Jesus’ entire public ministry
    • Gospel means “Good News”
    • The “Good News” is salvation from sin
      • We are saved from death & sin
      • We have been set free!
    • Jesus proclaimed this in ALL He did

How Jesus shared the Gospel

    • Taught about what God’s kingdom was like
    • Taught us how to live by loving God above all else & loving our neighbor as ourselves
    • Gave us the Beatitudes
    • Healed the sick, cast out demons, and forgave sins as signs of God’s grace & power
    • Called 12 Apostles to teach in a special way—to carry on His mission after He returned to the Father
      • Gave them special powers to do as He did
    • Taught the He is the Bread of Life, true food of eternal life
    • We must receive Him in the Eucharist to receive & participate in our salvation & continually renew the New Covenant He established in His Blood
