ABOUT ME

Hola! My name is Mónica Pinto-Moe, the new Multilingual Lead at Richfield Public Schools.I am originally from Bogota, Colombia. I moved to United States back in 2001 with the hope to improve my English and learn about the American culture. I live in Burnsville with my husband Kristian (a huge Packer fan!) and only son Santiago, who is third grader at Richfield Dual Language school.

MY EXPERIENCE

  • I have a B.A. in science with a major in Bacteriology from the Pontificia Javeriana University of Colombia.
  • I worked as a Bilingual Educational Assistant for 4 years in St. Paul Public Schools.
  • I have a Masters in ESL Education from the University of St. Thomas.
  • I taught ESL (English as a Second Language) for 3 years at Paul and Sheila Wellstone in St. Paul, and 12 years at Windom Dual Immersion and Emerson School.
  • I worked as the Bilingual Coordinator at Emerson Bilingual School for 2 years, providing workshops around language and Biliteracy, and strengthening relationships between families, students,teachers and our school.
