Our Approach to Discipline

  • If you do something wrong (either by mistake, impulsively, or on purpose) it will be addressed in a way to help you learn from that behavior and change it:
        • Can include:
          • Conference with a teacher, Dean or Administrator
          • Documented in Genesis
          • A Reflection or Apology
          • Meeting with a counselor, focused on the what happened
  • If the behavior doesn’t change, or is more severe:
    • A formal detention(s): Lunch, Block, After School
    • Parent/Guardian phone call and/or meeting
    • Probation/Removal from programs/positions
    • Suspension of privileges (cell phone, trips, etc)
    • Suspension: ISS/OSS
    • Other measures
    • HIB

Safety & Security

  • Only SBHS students should be in our building and on our campus
      • Do not open outside doors for ANYONE
        • This is a suspendable offense
    • No food deliveries during school hours.
        • Families are permitted to drop off lunch to the main entrance shelves

  • Students cannot leave school without a pass
        • Students pick up their pass at their house office
        • Students are signed out with a parent/guardian from the Front Desk

  • Staying after school:
        • Students may only remain here for school events (sports, clubs, Homework Help Center, etc.)
        • No “hanging out” in the building after school hours
