Desired traits and experiences for branch founders

  • Socially conscious: you are passionate about social impact and have prior experience in social initiatives
  • Collaborative leader: you have strong leadership and interpersonal skills; and are committed to leading a founding team for at least 8-12 months
  • Motivated: you are challenge-seeking and driven to achieve new goals
  • An achiever: you are talented in your field, with a strong record of personal/professional achievement
  • Entrepreneurial spirit: you are creative, resourceful, strategic, and unafraid to try new things
  • Interest in strategy: you have good knowledge of, or are interested in management, strategy consulting, advisory and/or business
  • Excellent work ethic: you have great time management and organisation skills, and are willing to put in significant time and effort to make your branch a success
  • International mindset: you are excited to be part of, and contribute to a large international network

Other requirements for branch founders

  • Current university student, with at least 12 months left at university
  • Fluent in English

First and foremost we are looking for strong leaders who have a deep passion for social impact. Social impact is one of 180 Degrees’ core values and it is essential that our branch founders embody our commitment to enabling real societal change.

THE PROCESS.

01. Online Application

A written application showcasing your skills and experiences, your motivation to start a 180DC branch and environmental suitability.

02. Interview

A two-way conversation about your application, understanding your alignment with 180DC, discussing your organisational structure and any preliminary challenges or questions.

04. Approval

Official approval of your branch! You will be allocated to an Operations Specialist who will set up an introductory call to discuss your branch launch and any topics you would like to learn more about. You should also legally register your branch and sign our Licensing Agreement.

03. Branch Proposal

A formal submission (in PowerPoint/PDF format) detailing the strategic planning underpinning your branch and addressing any gaps or weaknesses. It is also an opportunity for our team to see your commitment to launching the branch.

  • The branch has conducted 3 workshops with consultants from top-notch consulting firms such as BCG and Bain to develop the capabilities of their team of 44 students within 2 months of operations.
  • Besides that, they have assisted 7 external parties in providing self-development opportunities by reaching out to more than 300 students in Indonesia to take part in competitions, seminars and workshops.
  • They have differentiated themselves with other organizations by offering a unique consulting services, such as CSR program evaluation.
  • In the first year of operation, they plhelp organizations working in the environmental, health and education sectors an to to have a wider impact within the society.
