Google Classroom and Student Email

• Make sure you can access your student email through Outlook. Outlook Email Tutorial for KMS: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZjJr8BrP9cg
• In your email, accept invitations from your teachers to join their Google Classrooms. You should already have these from several teachers.
• Visit classroom.google.com and sign in with your DCSD school account. Your student login is your S#. (example:s1234567@dekalbschoolsga.org).Your password is dekalb04.
• In your Google Classroom Dashboard, verify that you are part of these 11 classrooms: HR, ELA, Math, Science, Social Studies, Enrichment-ELA, Enrichment-Math, PE, Music, Art and Library.
• Use the Google Classroom codes on the next page to join any classes that you are missing.
• We look forward to seeing you at our virtual Homeroom class meeting at 8:00 am on Monday, August 17. You will find the virtual meeting link for the first day of school in your Homeroom Classroom or on your Google Calendar. We will be using Google Meet. Please email your homeroom teacher if you have any problems. Teacher email addresses are listed on KMS4th.com.

Online Expectations and Etiquette

When joining a synchronous class online meeting, make sure:

• your microphone is muted.
• your first and last name are displayed for your name.
• your camera is on (unless instructed otherwise).
• wait for the teacher to call on you before speaking.
• your Tools for Success are ready to go next to you.

Maintain a professional screen presence:

• Be respectful of all teachers and classmates.
• Wear school-appropriate attire.
• Save snacks and drinks for offline time.
• Find a place to work during online sessions that will help you be productive and avoid distractions.
• You should be participating in the class activities and not using another device or doing things other than what is instructed.
• Recordings and screenshots of classmates or teachers are strictly prohibited and will result in immediate disciplinary action.
