1. CONTENT: FRAMEWORK
Young people grow up in varied circumstances with different priorities and perspectives. While youth does not exist as a single group we need to understand what is happening in young people's lives. Rethinking Youth challenges the conventional wisdoms surrounding the position and opportunities of young people today; within this context the current activity could contribute on youth studies research.
Through referring to a "Rethinking Youth" we aim to emphasize and focus on conceptions of youth, ideas and opinions of young people about programs and strategies designed for 'at risk' young people, and policy development opinions in benefit of youth affairs. There will be also set the topic of youth complexities, democracy and equality, sexual identity, safety and protection, human rights, ideologies, religion and politics from the perspective of young people in a rapidly changing world.
2. CONTENT: THEMATOLOGY
There is suggested to work in 7 main sectors according to interests and expectations of youth:
-Youth for Research and Innovation
-the eco-focused Youth
-the Artistic Youth
-the Sport Youth
-Youth for Civil Protection & social solidarity
-Disabled Youth and Social Inclusion
-the fighting Youth for human rights and social justice
AIMING TO:
-to tolerate each other
-to support each other to different kinds of tasks
-to cooperate in behalf of a common purpose
(sport activities, cultural activities, daily tasks and challenges)
-to develop skills of problem solving
-to ensure self-protection
-to keep individual independence
-to enhance their self-esteem
-to gain new learning experiences and challenges
through activities of inclusion practices
-to learn about other cultures and social environments
-to understand social behaviors of young peers of
different cultures and societies and the benefits
of harmonic co-existence
-to plan their future and keep their dreams alive!
-to strengthen the belief that life shall be taken
into their hands and that they can do it as well as
everybody can! ...
-to put into practice their thoughts
-to practice their critical thinking and self-management skills
IERARCHICAL SYSTEM OF ACTIVITIES EXECUTION
All of those thematic categories are going to be better constructed and analyzed
by young representatives with higher leadership skills.
The engaged young leaders that are going to work on this project
and develop it will be engaged to promote inclusion and human rights;
those grounded rules are of higher importance as to ensure the quality
of the process.
Each young leader will be challenged to create his
own youth group as to be set by his own sociabilities
as the LEADER OF THE GROUP.
EUROPEAN YOUTH WEEK
LEARNING AGREEMENTS
With participants
The participants will be declared that they will have
learning opportunities related to social inclusion,
customs and traditions, european identity, healthy lifestyles
& common needs & values (focusing in eco-solidarity topics).
Those learning outcomes will be a result of activities as
ice-breaking games, role playing, debates & discussions.
Informal discussions between participants will support
knowledge exchange concerning local social,
cultural and geographical characteristics of their city
of venue or country of origin.
PATHWAYS OF REACHING NGO’S EXPECTATIONS
A second purpose of this project is to be strengthened the fellowship and flourish the partnership between the implicated partners, as visioned by the participatory youth. All the representatives have already a regular communication aiming to strengthen cooperation perspectives. All of the implicated partners are fond of the idea to establish an online volunteering network, where they can upload invitations for new ideas, projects and alliances. The Greek partner and applicant of the current project has already started building a network of youth involving 7 organizations that cooperate in this direction. We have a Facebook and a website. Everything just started and is under construction. The idea has been already tested for a few months making corrections, adjustments and framework development. We already suggested a logo.
LOCAL & VIRTUAL MEETINGS
By local meetings will be set the communication & collaboration between
LOCAL & VIRTUAL MEETINGS
The transnational meetings are necessary mainly (i) to develop a trustworthy environment of cooperation, (ii) to evaluate the group dynamics, special qualifications & probable weaknesses, (iii) to strengthen the alliance through mutual support & (iv) to be engaged to the project's purpose without conflicts. Secondly, those meetings are essential for the control of the project's monitoring & control, the quality assurance of administration (control of workload, data digitization, file-directories, constant communication, conflict management, milestones' accuracy, etc) & the project's quality (activities' workload, cooperation, productivity, workload's flow, quality of processing, positive impact on youth, etc). Learning activities will be the main source of feedback for conflict management & reformation of plans & applied methodologies of youth-groups' task-related progression
