Kepler-69c

Discovery

Distance

Other Information

Kepler-69c was discovered on the 18th of April 2013. Composition of this exo planet is uncertain but its orbit of 242 days around a sun-like star resembles that of our neighboring planet Venus.

It is located about 2,700 light-years from Earth in the constellation Cygnus.

Despite being 70% larger than the size of Earth, Kepler-69c is the smallest yet found to orbit in the habitable zone of a sun-like star.

Kepler-69c

Advantages

Disadvantages

It has an estimated equilibrium temperature of 325 K (52 °C; 125 °F), but likely has a far hotter surface temperature of 548 K (275 °C; 527 °F).

Kepler-69c ’s mass is 70 percent higher than our earth’s mass. This means that the gravity on Kepler-69c is much higher.

Probability of life existing in planets

There could be life existing on this planet as it has water on its surface.

It is possible to survive in this exo planet because it is only -39 degrees and the there is also water on this planet.

Despite having the sun orbiting in habitating areas. It is way too hot for anything to survive
