Outline

We have received request from the clients where they want to leverage the Custom variable filter for Surveys along with some customizations. The user should be able to select custom variables and the Metric for which they wish to see the result.

Currently, our platform only offers Segment level Custom Variable filter.

  • Need to track the number of responses received for particular Custom variables per Survey and then make strategies accordingly.
  • To have the Custom Variable Widget applicable on Survey Level filter.
  • To have the widget a little flexible where I can select any custom variable for the axis and then the metric that I wish to see.
  • The Custom Variable widget currently is only applicable on Segment Level filter and not Survey level which leads to partial comparison of data.
  • There is no way where I can add 2 custom variables and see the data for them in a single widget.

As an Implementation Specialist, when I’m adding widgets to the dashboard on the CX platform, I’ve following requirements:

I want to add Custom Variable Widget on Survey Level so that I can see the data on Survey Level too along with Segment level.

Second I’d also like to have the Custom variables choice to be present for both of the axis so that I can get the data/selected metric out from those points.

Segment level too comes handy when I need to view the result based on any segment but at the same time, I need to have the data based on Survey level too.

      • Need to have the Custom Variable Widget Up and Working for Survey Level Filter so that I can view the data per my needs. (i.e Segment based or Survey based)

    • Introduction of Z-axis and add support for custom variables on X, Y and Z-axis.

Scope

With this enhancement, Dashboard and Reporting areas will be affected.

Both the Dashboard and Reporting needs to accommodate the Custom Variable widget for Survey Level filter.

Along with the flexibility of adding custom variables on both the axis with the selected metric.

Acceptance criteria

  1. Test that the Custom Variable widget is present under the Survey Level filter.
  2. Test that the user can toggle between surveys and segment for this filter.
  3. Test that the user can select the value they wish to see on the X and Y axis and the metric corresponding to that
  4. Test that the Segment level Custom Variable Widget works per the new functionality.
  5. Test that the report contains survey level custom variable data if the widget is present in the dashboard.
  6. Test that per survey only 1 custom variable a user is allowed to select for both the axes.

Questions

  1. A survey may contain “N” number of Custom variables along with the workflow rules. So, should we have the capability to show multiple custom variables per survey OR per survey only one custom variable? -- To keep the scope minimal, let’s go ahead with 1 survey, 1 custom variable for each axis.
  2. Needs confirmation - There will be no distinguishing provided on this widget based on the mode of data being received. (example: From survey link or any other source) -- Silvi/Priya to check if data is getting captured correctly as dev team will only be working on displaying the data
  3. Currently, we are displaying #of responses on the Y axis and Custom Variable values on the X axis. Is this how we should move ahead with this functionality or do you propose some other idea? -- Let’s keep it dynamic in nature

Questions

  • Currently, we can set Distribution Chart widget on Single/Multi-select question type. So, how can we have NPS/CSAT on the Y-Axis?
  • Need to know how custom variable or Product filter we are thinking to be applied as these are already the part of the setting up a widget.
