“Lincoln Hills Colorado:

An African American Heartbeat”

This quilt includes representations of the people and places of the Lincoln Hills resort. Judy Haslee Scott is the wife of John Herbert Spencer Scott, a descendant of Lincoln Hills property owner; William Pitts, who is pictured to the left of the red cabin, which has stayed in the family for generations; Scott’s mother-in-law, Elizabeth Pitts Scott and father, Paris Monroe Scott are pictured above the cabin; To the right of the cabin is her husband, John Scott and her sister in law, Nancelia Elizabeth Scott Jackson as children; Wink’s Panorama Lodge is shown in the center. In the foreground a group of people is shown exiting the Dinky Train; To the left of the columbine a group of YWCA camp girls stand in front of the Camp Nizhoni girls’ camp administration building.
