IM Basketball 101

  • NO JEWELRY
  • 2-20 minute halves
  • Half time will be 5 minutes, strictly enforced
  • The clock will run continuously for the first 19 minutes of each half unless stopped for team time outs, injury, or at the official’s discretion3 player required to start the game
  • 2 time outs per half
  • ALL PLAYERS must wear the same color shirt/jersey with a visible number
    • MAKE THEM WEAR PENNIES!!!!!!!!! This will only make your jobs easier
  • New Scoreboards and scoreboard locations!
    • We know change is scary, please provide feedback during the season and bring suggestions on any recommendations!

IM Basketball 101

  • We will do OT in regular season
    • A 3-minute OT will be played
    • If a 2nd OT is needed, this period will be first basket wins
    • Teams will shoot on the same basket in OT as they did in the 2nd half
  • After Halftime, any time a team is up by 30 points the game will be called
  • At the 7th team foul, the team will shoot one and one bonus
  • At the 10th team foul, the team will shoot two free throws
  • No points can be scored when a Team or Player control foul is called

Trail Official

  • Officials rotate during game based on position of ball

  • Lead and trail are always on ball side: Ball Side= Strong Side
    • Lead initiates rotation by switching side of court once ball has come to rest on opposite side
    • Center becomes Trail
    • Trail becomes Center
