Practice: STERILE TECHNIQUE

CASE 1:

You are following Ashley Pincher, a 30 year old G1P0 in labour. She has been making excellent progress. You were in the OR for another patient’s cesarean section and notice you were paged an hour ago that Ashley is pushing.

When you present to her labour room you see she is crowning. Ashley is exhausted but happy to see you: “I thought you were going to deliver my baby!”. Your attending gives you a stern look and says “If they can get their gloves on fast enough!”.

  • DECIDE WHAT YOU NEED TO PUT ON
  • 2 STUDENTS WILL RACE AT A TIME
  • YELL “TIME” WHEN YOU ARE DONE, AND FREEZE
  • YOU WILL BE TIMED UNTIL THE FASTEST STUDENT IS DETERMINED
